Recordings of the practice of Acupuncture
were seen in Chinese history as early as the Han Dynasty (202 BC to 220
AD). Several hundred years later Acupuncture points were further
examined and illustrated.
In recent times, due to growing public
awareness of the benefits of acupuncture and accelerating costs of
health care in western countries, more people are looking to this very
different approach to medicine, which has withstood the trials of
clinical practice for thousands of years.
Interest in Acupuncture practice and its
results is attracting medical scientists and practitioners from all
over the world. Modern science and technology are giving new life to
this ancient form of treatment, and as a result, more people will be
able to benefit from its wisdom.
The Japanese form of Acupuncture
uses very delicate techniques which although gentle, can have a strong
influence on the way the body functions. Hair-fine filaments (needles)
are usually very shallowly inserted, about 1-2mm, with no discomfort to
the client. Diagnosis of symptoms and body imbalances is made via the
pulses and by gently palpating the abdomen. Specific points are located
by palpation and the patient immediately verifies the effect via a
reflex point. This technique can be used to alter muscle tension, blood
circulation, nerve function, hormone levels, organ function, bone
alignment, stress levels, reduce inflammation, improve immunity and aid
recovery before and after surgery.
This form of acupuncture can be used in
conjunction with or without conventional medicine to enhance healing
capacity. It also aids the process of transporting nutrients to the
cells. Pain, whether acute or chronic often responds dramatically.
Illness is caused by disharmony in the body. Disharmony causes the lack
of fluid and energy movements in the body. Acupuncture works by
correcting this disharmony.
Acupuncture needles are pre-sterilised,
individually packed, and disposable. They are used and then safely
discarded after each treatment, so that there is no danger of
cross-infection.
After acupuncture treatment one generally
experiences a sense of well-being and relaxation, often with lightness
and clarity of mind.
Japanese Acupuncture can assist in
preparation for and support of IVF and infertility treatments. Japanese
acupuncture offers better fertility to patients wishing to conceive
naturally or those needing help through IVF treatment. IVF programs are
65% effective but with the addition of Japanese acupuncture, the
success rate increases to 85%. Chinese and Japanese medicine help to
develop follicles and produce better quality eggs. Treatment is
tailored to the individual's exact condition.
Why does acupuncture work? Acupuncture is
thought to work by regulating the body's systems,
aiding blood flow to the reproductive organs and stabilising hormone
levels which in turn results in improved ovarian function in women and
sperm production in men.
When should you use Acupuncture for
infertility? For treatment for fertility, it is better to do more than
less. It is common for people to use acupuncture for 3 to 4 months
before insemination, IVF or donor egg transfer occurs. Treatments on
women can last up to 12 weeks of pregnancy which can assist in the
prevention of miscarriage. Treatments are risk free as acupuncture does
not have side effects.
Infertility is a difficult medical condition
to treat. Acupuncture produces highly positive results for both female
and male fertility.
Facial acupuncture is a full constitutional
treatment that views the face as an extension of both the emotions and
the energy channels of the body which flow from the soles of the feet
to the crown of the head.
When the face is treated, blood and energy (qi) flow increase, carrying
nutrients to the cells. The body interprets the insertion of the
filament as a "positive" injury which can then stimulate collagen and
elastin production.
The Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal protocol is more than
just acupuncture. It is deeply relaxing and is designed to treat both,
underlying constitutional imbalances, and the face itself. This means
that as the appearance of the face is treated, so is the overall health
of the body.
Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal promotes health and
well-being by
· Improving the functioning of the
respiratory, digestive, nervous and endocrine systems of the body
· Improving metabolism
· Improving immune function
· Increasing energy
· Reducing stress and aiding self-esteem
Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal may erase as many as
5 to 15 years from any face with results apparent after a few
treatments. Specifically, it
· Improves collagen/elastin production and muscle tone
· Helps to reduce bags and sagging tendencies / sunken areas
are "fleshed out"
· Helps to eliminate fine lines and diminish larger
wrinkles
· Helps to reduce double chins and lift drooping
eyelids
· Tightens pores and brightens eyes
· Increases local blood and lymph circulation
What does treatment
involve?
Each treatment begins with a herbal face
wash, followed by a mask utilizing Chinese herbs and heat. Acupuncture
is then carried out. Firstly, filaments are placed in the body, to
treat constitutional imbalances, and to start circulating qi and blood.
These fine filaments are then placed at a variety of acupuncture points
on the face and neck to bring the qi and blood to the areas that are to
be treated. This two-stage approach means that qi and blood are already
available to nourish the face and treat problems such as wrinkles,
discoloration or loss of tone. The face lifts via the acupuncture
points through the muscles’ own toning and tightening action
while the filaments stimulate circulation to improve facial colour.
Each treatment is specifically tailored to the individual.
How many treatments are
required?
A course constitutes between 10 and 20 treatments. On average, between
10 to 15 treatments are needed. Once a course of treatment has been
completed, monthly maintenance treatments are recommended to maintain
the benefits on both the face and general health.
